Communications and PR seminar
Dear all, I just got back home from Ukraine and I am very eager to apply the knowledge gained at the Communication and PR seminar, that took place at the Regional Bureau, Eurasia Scout Region in Kiev. We had 3 full days of theoretical training sessions, where the best trainers – Irakli Varsholomidze Responsible for Communications, IT, Archive, Design; and Srinath Tirumale Venugopal, Administrative Director, Office of the Secretary General at WOSM, listened to our own scout stories. As well, we learned from them what are the latest trends and best PR and communication strategies to use in order for us to develop scouting in our countries and the entire region too. It wasn`t easy, but the friendly atmosphere helped us to understand and express ourselves freely. The third day was a practical one in which we tried to transpose knowledge into practice. During this period we managed to become a great working team and I hope we will continue working side by side to promote scouting. I am sure we will achieve great results. It was very exciting to meet new people as well as old friends in scouting. I want to thank each and one of them for becoming friends. It was great to work in a team, and regardless of the political disputes between some of the countries we come from, we are still Brothers in Scouting. I would like to thank Vigen Hovhannisyan(Armenia NCO) who is an awesome Older Brother and a example of a true Scout, to thank Elena Sermaksheva (Belarus NCO) for being a true example of time management and diligence, Huseyn Huseynov (Azerbaijan NCO) for “Romeo and Julieta”, Anuki Konioshvili (Georgia NCO) for “Pampushki” and her colorful laugh, Natali Boyarskaya (Ukraine NCO) for the effective group work and great ideas, Denis Khodyakov (Kazakhstan NCO) for providing interest in every detail. Thanks to Suhrob Karimov (Tajikistan NCO), whom I met 9 years ago, for being the same true Scout and a good friend. Also thanks to Srinath Tirumale Venugopal who dazzled us with his smile. Thanks to Iurie Emilian for his critical thinking, Oleksandra Myshina for the hospitality and care she took for us. And of course Thanks to Irakli Varsholomidze for organizing such a great seminar. The whole story does not end here, because this is just the beginning of a bigger story.
