Boy Scouts of the Philippines Batangas City Council joins the Batangas City Risk Reduction and Management Council in the observance of this years’ National Disaster Consciousness month with the theme “Kahandaan at Kaligtasan ng Pamayanan, Pundasyon ng Kaunlaran.” Over the past years, the country faced different calamities that cause the lives of hundreds of Filipinos due to Typhoons and Earthquakes. And we, as Boy Scouts of the Philippines as known for our slogan “Laging Handa” (Be Prepared) shares the same commitment in promoting through organizations and cooperation with other agencies the ability of boys to do useful things for themselves and for others. In response with the need to educate our young students to be prepared in times of emergencies, Senior Scouts from the Emergency Service Training Course Corps (ESTC) Batch 4 assisted the Bureau of Fire Protection in demonstrating a fire and earthquake drill. More than one thousand (1,000) students from Batangas National High School participated in the said drill that took place on July 04, 2014 at the said school. The knowledge and information from the activities that the Senior Scouts gained thru the ESTC training equipped them with the necessary experience and abilities to share in assisting the fire and earthquake drill.
