1st Guinbanderahan Freedom Climb for the Environment

In celebration of the 118th Independence Day Celebration of the Republic of the Philippines, and as one of the projects towards the attainment of the World Scout Environment Badge under the World Scout Environment Programme (WSEP), fifty (50) Senior Scouts and Scout Leaders conducted a Tree Planting Activity at the summit of the Guinbanderahan Mountain located at Barangay Victory, Babatngon, Leyte. The palkata seedlings that were planted were products of careful parenting of the seeds that Mr. Ronelo U. Hidalgo, Outfit Advisor, received during the 16th National Scout Jamboree of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines last 24-30 October 2015 at Tagum City, Davao del Norte. Other seedlings were donated by San Agustin National High School (Babatngon, Leyte). On the morning of the 12th of June 2016, the participants conducted a Flag Raising Ceremony to honor the emancipation of the Philippines from its colonizers. The participants came from several Junior High School institutions in the town. #WSEP #EnvironmentEducation #WorldScoutEnvironmentProgramme #BoyScoutsOfThePhilippines #Philippines
