EDO FIRST LADY HOSTS FUNIS SCOUTS... The Wife of Edo State Governor, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki has played host to Scouts and Leaders of Federal University of Agriculture International Scouts (FUNIS) as part of the Troop Four Day Interstate Camping to Benin City, Edo commemorating the 111 years of the Founder's Day of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement. Mrs. Obaseki who was represented by the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports and his Women Affairs Counterpart congratulated Scouts Worldwide on the occasion of the founders day Celebration. While commending the positive Socio-Cultural and Educational impact of Scouting to National and international development, she said the Government would continue to create enabling environment for the growth of Voluntary Uniform Youth Organisation. She said Edo state Government has recently approved the construction of 15 mini stadia across the state to engage youth constructively. Earlier, FUNIS Scout Leader, Ap. Adenekan has told the first lady that Scouting aimed to create a better world through quality leadership and mentoring program. 10 Scouts and 4 leaders participated in the interstate camping which also provided opportunity to improve 2nd Class skill of the Scouts The Scouts had earlier visited the Edo State House of Assembly, The Palace of Oba of Benin and the Oba Zoological Garden
