1st. Brussels (British) Scouts at ON8RT EmComm Field Station during 2014 JOTA-JOTI

The true spirit of scouting was on display at 1st.Brussels (British) Scouts. Our youngsters found practical solutions to install an EmComm (Emergency Communications) field antenna and demonstrated the concentration required to identify and log scout radio stations they heard on the 40m short-wave band. Scouts who participated are from Phoenix & Griffin Scout Troops and Criffel & Lomond Beaver Scout Colonies. The event was organised with logistics support from the Belgian Red Cross and Youth Science Outreach & Enrichment Programme of Dr.G.Thanikaimoni Memorial Trust. For JOTA-JOTI 2015, we look forward to forging links through the development of a radio scouting project. Scout troops can contact Ravi ON8RT if they require assistance for radio scouting and training for communications related badge work.
