Scouts For SDGs

50 million Scouts. 17 Global Goals. 3 billion hours of community service. By 2030

Scouts for SDGs is the world’s largest coordinated youth contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals, activating 50 million young people in 224 countries and territories to take action for the most pressing issues of our time.

When the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, it was clear that the 17 Global Goals could only be achieved by engaging active citizens in every community to build a more prosperous, peaceful and sustainable world.

Scouting’s action-oriented and educational approach to youth development means that Scouts are already taking action to achieve the Global Goals whether they know it or not. In fact, our community has completed over 1 billion hours of community service since 2012, and that’s only the start.

With Scouts For SDGs, the Scout Movement is committing to completing another 3 billion hours of service by 2030 with over 2 million actions in nearly every community in the world.
The initiative will come with training, funding opportunities, partnerships, toolkits, and online campaigns to inspire young people to be active citizens, enable them to take action, and deliver local impact on a massive scale.

We can all do something to make a positive impact on our communities, and Scouts for SDGs is taking the Scout Movement’s commitment to the next level.
Anyone can start taking action for a better world by exploring the Sustainable Development Goals, taking small actions every day and completing the to-do list for each goal, and adding their community service project to the map.
